Why Remodel?:

Are you out growing your home?  Do you wish you had a master suite with walk-in closets and a large master bathroom, or your kitchen floor plan puts everyone on top of each other while you're cooking dinner.  And, moving is out of the question.  A remodel may be the most efficient and cost effective way to get exactly what you want.

Compared to building new or buying a different house a remodel can give you exactly the look and design you want for less money.  It can also increase your current home's resale making it more attractive to potentional buyers.  If you love your home and your neighborhood it makes a lot of sense.

A remodel can give you the space your family needs or give you your master retreat you deserve and still be a sound investment.

The key to any remodel is to hire a professional that will be able to fulfill your dreams, a remodeler that will partner with you in making your vision come to life, a remodeler like Town & Country Builders.

What To Look For When Hiring A Contractor?:

Get An Estimate

Make sure you get an estimate for the work you want done.  More importantly make sure (if you get two or more estimates) you ask every contractor for the same work or you will not be getting accurate comparisons.  Accepting the lowest bid may be risky.  Always consider all the factors.  Quality of work, experience, customer service, can you reach your contractor (if you can't now you won't later when its important).

At Town & Country Builders we provide our customers with referrals and photos and offer a workmanship guarantee on our services.  Plus we are easy to get a hold of.

High Pressure Tactics

Don't let your contractor fast talk you into something you don't need.  Make sure you're comfortable with your contractor and that he understands what you needs are.  Commit to a reasonable budget and stick to it.  We let our customers dictate the scope of the project and offer direction a long way.

Hire Only Licensed Contractors

Its not enough to say you know how to build you have to back it up with a state license.  Probably half of our work has been started by a well intentioned husband or friend of the homeowner.  These job are usually poorly executed, incorrectly done and in the long run cost the homeowner more money.  Instead of doing it right in the first time they spent good money to do it wrong and good money to do it right the second time with a professional.  Please don't ask the people at the Big Building Stores for building advice.  They only know about what they sell.  They do not know how to build.

Know Your Budget

Know how munch money you have to complete your remodel and discuss this with your professional.  Make sure its a realistic budget with a realistic goal.

Town & Country Builders offers the option to fit your budget to your needs.  We can complete the work up to a predetermined point and resume construction later as more funds are available to you.  We recommends holding back 10-15% of your budget for any unexpected work or client change orders.

The Contract

Read over the contract to make sure it includes everything you expect to take place.  Make sure it includes labor and materials to cover the entire job.  Note:  By law the customer has the right to purchase their own materials.

Town & Country Builders likes to take the time to review our contracts with our customers and make sure we are all on the same page.

From conception to finished project - We take care of all your remodeling needs.
